Social Sharing and counting icons are extremely important for your blog. If you do not add any one of the available social sharing icon network, then you are losing your traffic, how, let’s suppose, you are a manufacturer and your production is on a large scale, but you do not introduce and advertise it in the market… will this business beneficial for you??? I think No and only No.

So if you are generating high quality contents for your blog , then you must add social sharing icon at the end of the post content, may be, below post title or sidebar. So that, if your readers find it helpful, then they may share with their friends and the string then continues. So what do you want more ?

Today, we will show that how can you insert one of the most famous sharing buttons “ShareThis Social buttons” in WordPress Blog below post title, after post content, header or sidebar. Following is the step by step tutorial.

Step 1: Go to WordPress Dashboard

Step 2: Now go to Plugins >> Add New, a search bar will appear, in the search bar, write “SharThis” click on the first plugin “ShareThis: Share Buttons and Social Analytics “and click on Install.

Step 3: Now go to Setting >> ShareThis. Here you will manage ShareThis Social buttons

Step 4: Select your desired and customized buttons (You can add specific social icons by dragging them in the selection box). [Also, do not check the CopyNmeasur box because, if someone copy or share your post, then it will add unnecessary hash tags to your post URL] and go next, (If they ask for login, then sign up in your ShareThis Account or create free one). In the last step, they will provide two (Script and HTML Tags) codes.

Step 5: Simply, Click on Save. You have added ShareThis Social buttons below the post contents successfully. :)

But wait, this is not always the case,

What if you have added Google AdSense or other network ads? May be a widget or something else whatever you want?

The problem is that, ShareThis Social buttons will appear before that Ads/Widget. What? Yes…let’s move… In some cases, you may accept this (but this is not the case for me) because it destroys your blog design and looks like very annoying. So what is the solution then? Go ahead…

Step 6: In step 4, the ShareThis plugin provides two codes. First one is Script tags and the second one is HTML Tags. In the 2nd one (HTML Tags) Simply Cut (I am saying again “Cut” not Copy and leave this section blank)

Step 7: Now Go to Dashboard >> Appearance >> Editor and Search for “Single.php” Now search for

<?php the_content(); ?>

The code may be different in your case, but concentrate for “the_content()” (for detail, check the below screen shot)

As you may see, this is the end of your post contents. You may also note that, I have added Ads after this piece of code, and then I have added the SharThis buttons Tags (After the Ads). In simple words, put your (cute code in step 6) and paste it after the ads code or this (may be different but looks like same) code

</div><!– .entry /–>

and click save. You have done.

Note: in most cases, it doesn’t work to edit the theme files this way, if so, then you may need to change it in your hosting panel through >> public_html/>>wp-content>>theme/your _theme_name/>>single.php i.e,

[public_html/wp-content/theme/your_theme_name/single.php]

Add ShareThis Social Buttons below Post Content (Right after Post contents i.e. bottom of the post)

It’s quite simple. The only thing you need to do is that repeat the Step 7 with few changes. In simple words, put the ShareThis buttons HTML Tags before (i.e. above) this code “<?php the_content(); ?>” Or this code“the_content()”.

Add SharThis social buttons & widget in sidebar or other sections

This is also quite simple and doesn’t need to edit or touch your html section or php coding.

Step 8: Just Go WordPress Dashboard >> Setting >> ShareThis and Select sidebar widget or floating bar. And then again customize your buttons and save. You have done.
